About Me

My photo is the online home of web designer and developer . When I somehow manage to drag myself away from my computer, some of my other hobbies include mountain biking, skiing, basketball, flying my radio controlled airplane, and ballroom dancing with my beautiful wife, Sanni.

Currently, I live in Vancouver, Washington (my wife's home town), but inside I'm an "Idaho boy"—I was born and raised in the small rural town of Moore, Idaho.

In December of 2004 my life changed forever when I became a father with the birth of our first son, Riley. I'm sorry to disappoint any of you that have children of your own, but Riley is the cutest, most adorable baby ever!

About this Site

This site is my personal playground on the web. It's my place where I can experiment with web design and development and showcase some of my work. I also thought it might be a good way to keep in touch with distant family members by sharing photos and posting news to the weblog.

This site is coded with XHTML 1.0 Strict and uses CSS for layout (look Ma, no tables!). The XHTML and CSS should be valid, but the W3C's validator incorrectly chokes on the CSS underscore hack. Plus, it also doesn't recognize the proprietary Mozilla CSS properties that I use to add special effects in Firefox—but don't worry, the site still looks pretty cool in other browsers.

A Note about Browsers

By the way, if you can't tell, I'm a big fan of the Mozilla Firefox browser. If you're still using Internet Exploder, then it's time to switch to a newer, more standards compliant browser. As anyone who makes web pages knows, Internet Exploder is full of bugs that cause lots and lots of headaches for web designers and developers.

Now that there are plenty of better alternatives like Firefox, Opera, and Safari, it's time for web designers and developers to stop "dumbing down" their pages and limiting their creativity in order to assure that their sites work in Internet Exploder.

Therefore, I will only make a moderate effort to ensure that this site works in Internet Exploder. If you want to enjoy the full user experience as I intended on this site, I suggest you use Firefox. Of course, I realize that Firefox isn't the only alternative browser out there that does a much better job of supporting newer web standards, but I recommend Firefox because it's free and available for Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux.
