I got a job!

Great news! Just as my one year contract with Microsoft Live Meeting was nearing its end, I’ve been offered a permanent, full time position with The City of Portland as a web developer.

I start my new job tomorrow, July 11th. I’m very excited as the position is everything I’ve been looking for in my next career move. I will be maintaining and enhancing existing web applications, along with new application development, for both internal and public use. I’ve had some difficulty finding a position that I felt was a good match for my skills and experience and would provide me with the opportunities that I’ve been looking for.

Luckily, I feel that this position is a great fit for me and I expect that our relationship will be mutually benefitial to both employer and employee. I think that I will enjoy the people that I’ll be working with and find great satisfaction in the type of work that I’ll be doing. I expect to stay with The City of Portland for a long time to come.

Stay tuned for more updates in the future as I get a better feel for what projects I’ll initially be working on.
